Historic vineyards. This wine is aged in our old family winery La Plazuela from 1851 located in Dosbarrios (Toledo).

Tasting

Colour

La Plazuela is a true continental wine which reflects in its intense cardinal red color concentration.

Scent

Without moving the glass nuances of ripe black fruit accompanied by elegant toasting pair with notes of cigar box, sandalwood, exotic spices and a lively minerality.

Palate

The palate is elegant and powerful, marked by flavors of ripe black fruits, licorice, spice, tobacco and cocoa notes. The finish is long, well balanced and velvety.

Pairing

All types of meat and game dishes and dark chocolate.

Vineyards

Historic old bush vines with very low yields grown on the meseta at high elevation. Lime soils.

Variety

80% Cencibel (Tempranillo) and 20% Garnacha.

Harvest

Manual at the end of September.

Fermentation

Natural fermentation in small stainless-steel tanks followed by malolactic in traditional tinajas (clay amphora).

Ageing

18 months in new 300-liter barrels (80% French oak, 20% American oak) followed by another year in tinaja
